The date has been set for the 2019 edition of the Coventry Food and Drink Festival after it’s huge success this year.
Coventry Business Improvement District (BID) has confirmed that the event will be returning to the city centre once again. The dates are set for Saturday 11/05/2019 and Sunday 12/05/2019, and everyone is being urged to get it in their diary.
It comes after the 2018 event was a massive hit, seeing thousands of people coming into the city centre to sample a delicious range of food and enjoy a whole host of entertainment from live singers to kids cookery workshops. Special guests included, celebrity chef, Phil Vickery, and author, Anjula Devi.
Trish Willetts, Coventry BID Director, is thrilled that the event is coming back once again after it proved such a hit in June.
“This year’s event was absolutely amazing and everyone involved could not be happier with how everything went,” said Trish.
“That is why we have already set the date for 2019, to make sure that everyone knows it will be returning once again, let’s keep our fingers crossed for weather like we had.
“We aimed to go bigger and better than 2017, and we certainly did that! Now we are busy preparing to make sure that we top ourselves once again next year.
“I would like to thank everyone who came out and supported us and we hope to see you there in 2019.”
An array of traders joined in with the weekend, selling everything from fudge, ice cream, sweet treats, vodkas, cider, gin, wine and a whole host of delicious street food, including burgers, Greek dishes, cheeses, cakes, pizza, and many more culinary treats.
Plans for next year’s event are in the very early stages and more information will be revealed once things are confirmed.
“It’s very early days and nothing has been decided, but we hope for more traders, lots more musical entertainment and of course plenty of food and drink along the way as well.
“If anyone wants to make any suggestions for next year, we would love them, so contact us through the Coventry Food Festival Facebook page.”
