Study: Coventry’s roads among the top ten slowest city streets in Britain

Coventry has been named Britain’s eighth slowest city for motorists in a new study.

The investigation, by Satrak Plant Security, found that the city’s roads had an average speed of 16.24mph.

The slowest city in the UK was Cambridge, with an average speed of 13.73mph.

“It’s nice to see that people are taking care in many of our cities…as these places are often busy and above all are not environments for speeding,” said Dan Walton from Satrak.

The study also looked at motorways across Britain. The M25 in London scored particularly badly, with an average speed of 25.05mph.

“It would take a vehicle nearly five hours to travel all 117 miles, which is the equivalent flight time of a plane travelling from London to Turkey or Greece,” the study said.
