Roadworks at Birmingham Airport to cause disruption until May

Motorists heading to Birmingham Airport are set to face weeks of roadworks starting from tomorrow.

The passenger drop-off facilities are being renovated before the summer holiday flight season begins.

The delays are set to go on until May.

The full list of closures is as follows:

  • Lane 1 of Airport Way, from tomorrow (Wednesday 1st March) until Friday 19th May – between the Bird Island Roundabout and the Hermes Roundabout
  • From Monday 13th March until Saturday 29th April, Lane 1 will be closed on Concorde Road. This will be between the Hermes Roundabout and the Drop & Go exit
  • The footway/cycleway along Airport Way will also be closed. Pedestrians and cyclists will be directed through Car Park 5 for the duration
  • Traffic management along Airport Way and Concorde Road will be monitored throughout the works

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause,” Birmingham Airport said in a statement
