An emergency meeting was held yesterday by the school’s headteacher and governors on the conditions of the grounds.

The Nuneaton school’s Facebook page has reported rubbish thrown over the school site and more travellers who have arrived since the weekend.

Around 8 caravans pitched near to The Dingle last Friday evening, but has since doubled with horses being reported on the site.

The school plans to reassess the conditions by the end of today. Their Facebook page has said: “This has been a difficult decision to make but the welfare of our children is our number one priority.”

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council are understood to begin the legal proceedings to vacate the travellers from the grounds.
