Poisoned food may be left around Abbey Green in Nuneaton

A dog owner reported her pet eating food that is believed to be poisoned on the Abbey Green on Corporation Street.

The dog became ill and required veterinary treatment after ingesting the food. The dog owner, who does not wish to be named, said: “Someone in Abbey Green has been leaving poisoned food on the field at Corporation Street. I nearly lost my dog because of this.”

Warwickshire Police said in response: “The local Safer Neighbourhood Team has been made aware and the incident is currently being treated as unexplained.”
