Noisy Dordon neighbour fined five figures for loud music

A man has been fined more than £15,000 after making his neighbours’ lives a misery by playing loud music.

The 47-year-old man, from Dordon, played his music for up to 32 hours at a time.

He did not comply with a restraining order placed against him, and he also ignored a noise abatement notice when he received it last year.

Now he has been fined over £16,000.

Nuneaton Magistrates Court convicted him of breaching the notice last month.

“This fine reflects the severity of the offence,” Steve Maxey, assistant Chief Executive of North Warwickshire Borough Council, said yesterday.

“[He] repeatedly ignored the warnings from the police and from the council, which not only constituted a flagrant breach of the law but also caused undue distress and upset to his neighbours in Dordon.”
