Motorist injured following double decker bus crash in Willenhall

A motorist has been taken to hospital following a collision between a bus and car this afternoon.

The incident occurred on Robin Hood Road in Willenhall, Coventry at around 2.50pm.

One ambulance and a paramedic were sent to the scene, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

“Crews arrived to find a car that had suffered severe damage in collision with a bus,” the spokesperson said.

“The car driver, a man believed to be in his 40s, managed to free himself from his vehicle.

“He was treated for suspected broken ribs and a hand injury and transported to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

“There was one patient from the bus, a man believed to be in his 60s who had suffered a hand injury. He was treated in a nearby medical centre and did not require onward transport to hospital.

“The driver of the bus was uninjured in the incident,” they added.
