Lee Brooks killers given life in prison

Two men from Coventry were sentenced to life in prison last week after beating another man to death.

Drew Thorpe, 19 and of Hollis Road, will serve a 12-year sentence for the murder of 36-year-old Lee Brooks.

Stephen Weeks, 48 and of Hugh Road, will serve 16 years.

The attack took place on 26th August at Weeks’ home. Brooks was found by police the next morning and he died a few days later.

“This is a tragic case where a man has lost his life in an horrific and brutal attack,” said Detective Sergeant Michelle Kiedron.

“Summing up, Judge Griffiths-Jones commented that this was sustained savagery in the face of agonising screams from the victim. He also said that he believed there was a settled intention between the two defendants to kill Lee Brooks using weapons.

“Lee’s family were at court throughout the trial and remain devastated, our specialist officers continue to support them.”
