High scores for Coventry and Warwick in annual university league tables

Coventry University has been ranked the 12th best university in the country by a respected league table.

The Guardian’s annual University Guide moved the institution up three spots from 15th place last year.

In a statement, vice-chancellor Professor John Latham said the news was “wonderful”.

“This is wonderful news for our staff, for our students and for the wider Coventry community. We’re proud to be recognised in this way and to be doing our bit to showcase the great strengths and qualities of this city,” he added.

The tables reflect a number of factors, including student satisfaction and the student to staff ratio.

Warwick University came 8th in the table. The top scorer was Cambridge, followed by Oxford and St Andrews.
