Five men arrested in Coventry on suspicion of funding terrorism

Five men have been arrested in Coventry on suspicion of funding terrorism, West Midlands Police has announced.

The group, all aged between 36 and 38 years old, were arrested at homes in Coventry under the Terrorism Act 2000.

Searches at some properties in the city continue.

“They are all being held at a police station in the West Midlands,” police said.

“Today’s arrests were pre-planned and there was no risk to the public’s safety.”
