32-year-old from Coventry, Tania Chikwature was over 3 times the speed limit on the A606 with her 20-month-old son when overtaking a lorry in December.
She has been jailed by Peterborough magistrates for drink-driving and dangerous driving, having consumed vodka between 21:00 and 01:00 the night before.
She had 3 times as much alcohol in her blood sample than the legal limit at the time of the accident.
Fortunately, her son was unhurt and she sustained minor injuries. A passing lorry managed to capture the footage as she tried to overtake the lorry and hit a roundabout, flipping the car over.
The lorry driver, Richard Jones, said: “I remember thinking as it launched into the air, they’re not going to make it.”
Her jail time constitutes of both 26 weeks for dangerous driving and 12 weeks for drink-driving, and has been banned from driving for 3 years.
