Coventry City FC pays tribute to footballer Ugo Ehiogu, who has died

Coventry City has paid tribute to footballer Ugo Ehiogu, who has passed away at the age of 43.

“The thoughts and condolences of everyone at Coventry City are with the family and friends of Ugo Ehiogu at this sad time,” the club said.

Mr Ehiogu, who was a defender, is believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest.

He leaves behind his wife Gemma and his two children, Obi Jackson and Jodie.

He played for a variety of teams, including the England national squad. He went up against the Sky Blues in 1997 when playing for Aston Villa.
