Coventry school closed following suspicious activity outside

A school on Halford Lane has closed today following an reports of a man acting suspiciously outside.

Whitmore Park School will remain closed today following a risk assessment.

“Following further investigation into this matter the man who was seen acting suspiciously outside Whitmore Park School, Halford Lane, Coventry yesterday (7 June) has been identified and spoken to by police,” said West Midlands Police

“Officers are satisfied with the explanation he gave and that no offences have been committed and there are no further concerns around this individual.

“All incidents of this nature reported to us are taken seriously and will be looked into. We would always encourage people to report any activity or behaviour they deem suspicious.”

Whitmore Park School said: “Due to an incident outside of school we have reviewed the risk assessment for polling day and have decided to close.”

Hollyfast Primary School and Keresley Grange Primary School are also closed.
